TI 1520 Cardbus card on Xeon based Intel server

I'm getting the following error on a Xeon based Intel server with 1 GB
Ram

The info files follow.  I have tried this adapter on two other systems,
both SLES9.  The VIA Nehamiah and the Intel P4 system work fine.  This
Xeon system will not.  SLES9 works fine on my two test laptops, on P4M
one Pentium-M

This card will not work in the standard PCI slot on the server, kernel
panic trying to kill init! If I boot any 2.6 kernel, 2.4 kernels boot
fine.

I have it in the half height PCI slot right now, and the system boots,
but won't see any Cardbus card I but in it.  16-bit cards do show up.
