Cardbus 32bit IOPORTS problem.

I have a problem where the IOPORTS fails to work with a cardbus card.
Any call to outb() in the device driver causes the kernel to hang.
When the cardbus card is inserted, I can see the device in lspci.

Can someone please point me to some documentation so that I can trace
the code through from card insert to when the PCI information appears.
The lspci output shows the correct IO ports, but the output of "cardctrl
 config" does not show it.

Can people please provide me with info regarding where I should start
looking, and also details of wether "cardctl config" should show
anything for cardbus cards, or is "cardctl config" only used for 16 bits
 cards?

I would really like to get this fixed, but don't really know where to start.

James
