no. sorry. i have implemented your suggested script, although with a
static ip adress, since i do not run a dhcp-server on my ap. however,
while trying to activate eth1 with ifup eth1, i get the following
message in syslog /var/log/messages

eth1: resetting device....
eth1: uploading firmware ...
eth1: firmware version: 1.0.4.3
eth1: firmware upload complete
eth1: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
eth1: no 'reset complete' IRQ seen - retrying
eth1: interface reset failure
prism54: Your card/socket may be faulty, or IRQ line too busy :(

this does not make any sense to me...
