Done.

- The pcmcia module was loaded according to the lsmod output.
- No reference to "pcmcia" shows up in the syslog. (I do not know
  whether or not that is a good thing.)
- No syslog messages appear when unplugging/plugging the card from a
  running system.
- The card does not show up in the "ifconfig -a" (or iwconfig) output.

I have appended more debugging information below.
