(resent with some of the data omitted, because the mail gets big enough
to require approval otherwise, which does not seem to be given.
Hopefully short enough now.)

Hello,

I have a very similar problem to the one mentioned here:

http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-pcmcia/2004-October/001162.html

System: VIA EPIA MII-6000, 512 MB RAM
PCMCIA: Netgear WG511T (Wireless Network Card)
Bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c476 II (rev 80)
Kernel: 2.6.10-5

The wireless network card in the PCMCIA adaptor won't show up and the
syslog contains error messages such as

"pcmcia_socket0: unable to apply power"

or

"Failed to allocate mem resource"

I have appended a the following files below:

lspci: Normal output of "lspci -vv"
iomem: Output of "cat /proc/iomem"
dmesg: dmesg after system bootup.

I also tried to remove and reinsert the card after system bootup.
Removing did not cause any syslog messages, but on re-insertion it
gives:

Aug 4 22:17:18 knap kernel: cs: pcmcia_socket0: unable to apply power.
Aug 4 22:17:19 knap kernel: PCI: Failed to allocate mem resource #0:10000 at ea010000 for 0000:02:00.0
Aug  4 22:17:19 knap kernel: PCI: Enabling device 0000:02:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)
Aug  4 22:17:19 knap kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:00.0[A] -> GSI 12 (level, low) -> IRQ 12
Aug 4 22:17:19 knap kernel: ath_pci: cannot reserve PCI memory region
Aug  4 22:17:19 knap pci.agent[7893]:      ath_pci: already loaded

Following this, I tried appending "reserve=0xea010000,0x10000" to the
kernel, but this did not change the behavior at all.
By appending "pci=routeirq" instead, the mem allocation errors
disappeared, leaving only the "unable to apply power" messages there.
Either way, the wireless network card would not show up in the "ifconfig
-a" output.

(Unfortunately, the cbdump utility does not seem to exist on my system,
so no output provided.)

If I can give you any other information, please let me know.

-Samuel
