Summary: User initiated shutdown stops at ejecting PCMCIA cards
Kernel Version: 2.6.8 (Mantel kernel-of-the-day)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Owner: rmk at arm.linux.org.uk
Submitter: tnikkila at cc.hut.fi
Distribution:SuSE 9.1
Hardware Environment:IBM ThinkPad T21
Software Environment:
Problem Description:One must be logged in as root to be able to eject PCMCIA
cards. Sudo-kind-of solutions do not work. Prevents shutdown if a card is inserted.
Steps to reproduce:Configure KDM to allow local users to shut down the machine
and try to halt with a card in a slot. Will wait forever when stopping the
PCMCIA system.
