Problems with Yenta and TI PCI4451 chipset

Hi,
I've been having problems with IRQ sharing (I think, I'm not totally
sure), and my TI PCI4451 cardbus controller. My system (a Dell Inspiron
8200) seems to recognize the controller just fine. However, there are a few
quirks. The IRQ mask is 0x0000, and the Yenta Socket status is reported
back as 000000000. My internal PCI wireless card is recognized fine, but my
external doesn't show up at all, not even in lspci. To further complicate
matters, knoppix version 3.2 picks up both cards just fine. However, if I
install Knoppix to my hard disk, then the external PCMCIA card fails to
work. This is even if I hack the hard disk version so that it's running the
same startup script as the CD version. If I boot my Fedora install disk
from the CD, my external PCMCIA card lights up. However, after installing
Fedora, it faiils to be configrued properly, and does not even show up under
lspci. The only consistent thing that I've noticed is that the card does
not work when booting from my hard drive, but it works fine when I boot from
a CD. Changing my kernel seems to do nothnig to fix this issue. I have an
LFS (linux from scratch) set up on one partition, that is running a linux
2.6.4 kernel, and it again only is able to pick up the internal PCMCIA card.
My knoppix/debian hard disk install is running 2.4.24, and also is only
abe to pick up the internal card. Booting the same version of knoppix from
the CD is able to detect both the internal and external PCMCIA cards.
Currently I have Windows XP on my first hard disk, LFS on the first
partition of my second disk, and debian/knoppix on my second partition. The
card works fine under window's XP. It's worked fine under previous installs
of knoppix (the same version I'm runnnig currently), and I'm not sure what
is different about this install. I deleted Fedora from my ssytem to make
room for knoppix. I'm using my second partition of my second hard drive as
a test partition, and my ultimate goal is to get a completely configured LFS
system. At this point I would be happy getting my PCMCIA to work with ANY
distro.
To make matters more confusing, both the internal and external cards are
using the same broadcom 802.11g chipset. The reason I still want to use the
external card, is because the internal card has very poor reception, to the
point where it's unuseable, so this isn't just an academic exercise. Below
is the output of dmesg, lspci -v, and cardctl ident. One last thing,
disabling the internal wireless card has no impact on this problem.
