ENE CB1410 Fails to probe PCI Interrupts

Hi,

I've been trying and failing to get my ENE CB1410 Cardbus bridge
working on my new laptop under linux. dmesg reports the following error:

Linux Kernel Card Services
  options: [pci] [cardbus] [pm]
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:00:0a.0[A] -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
Yenta: CardBus bridge found at 0000:00:0a.0 [161f:2038]

Yenta TI: socket 0000:00:0a.0 no PCI interrupts. Fish. Please report.
Yenta: ISA IRQ mask 0x0000, PCI irq 0
Socket status: 00000749

I'm running a gentoo system, but I've tried the ubuntu live and install
cds, with the same result, and the knoppix 3.3 cd (with a 2.4 kernel)
does not report the same error in dmesg, but has the same symptoms
(namely no power to the cards, cardctl reports nothing)

I've googled around and found a few helpful threads, notably
http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-pcmcia/2004-March/000622.html
-- however my attempts to replicate this success have had no effect (I
think I am a little out of my depth here).

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,
Tom

PCI: Using ACPI for IRQ routing
** PCI interrupts are no longer routed automatically. If this
** causes a device to stop working, it is probably because the
** driver failed to call pci_enable_device(). As a temporary
** workaround, the "pci=routeirq" argument restores the old
** behavior. If this argument makes the device work again,
** please email the output of "lspci" to bjorn.helgaas at hp.com
** so I can fix the driver.
