I'm trying to get a Netgear MA401 wireless LAN card working on my system
(Compaq Presario 2105US laptop).
Slackware 9.
I had disabled PCMCIA support in the kernel in order to use the modules
provided by pcmcia-cs but that caused the following error at boot:
Sep 15 14:10:11 Judea kernel: Intel ISA/PCI/CardBus PCIC probe:
Sep 15 14:10:11 Judea kernel: O2Micro OZ6912 rev 00 PCI-to-CardBus at
slot 00:0a, mem 0x80000000
Sep 15 14:10:11 Judea kernel: host opts [0]: [pci/way] [pci irq 11]
[lat 32/32] [bus 2/5]
Sep 15 14:10:11 Judea kernel: ISA irqs (default) = 4,7,12 PCI status
changesSep 15 14:10:11 Judea kernel: cs: warning: no high memory space
available!
Sep 15 14:10:11 Judea kernel: cs: unable to map card memory!
Sep 15 14:10:11 Judea last message repeated 7 times
Sep 15 14:10:11 Judea kernel: memory_cs: RequestWindow: Resource in use
So I removed pcmcia-cs from my system, recompiled
the kernel with module support for PCMCIA and orinoco_cs, recompiled
pcmcia-cs 3.2.5 for the tools, and installed.
Now rather then seeing my MA401 as a memory card it seems to recognize
it for what it is, but the orinoco_cs module seems to be causing some
problems. This is what I get at boot time:

Sep 16 22:04:08 Judea kernel: options: [pci] [cardbus] [pm]

wlan0 does not come up. I tried the latest version of linux-wlan-ng and
the prism2_cs module. This is what I get at boot with that:

But cardctl does give me this:
root at Judea:~# cardctl ident
Socket 0:
product info: "NETGEAR MA401RA Wireless PC", "Card", "ISL37300P",
"Eval-RevA"
manfid: 0x000b, 0x7300
function: 6 (network)
Any idea what could be causing this? I really want to get this working.
Thanks!
P.S. Could someone also tell me how to subscribe to the list? Thanks!
