Fwd: [Bug 1446] New: Orinoco driver fails to start during boot up.

I was beginning to think I was the only one with this problem. Been
trying to debug it without much success. My setup is different though; I
have a Gateway 600E with the built-in Orinoco wireless, running RH9 with
the arjanv RPMs of 2.6.0-test[9876]. I've tried both with ACPI on and
ACPI disabled; it makes no difference. It also happens if I try a
regular Orinoco Gold card in one of the slots.

I'm currently trying to get a kernel running with PCMCIA_DEBUG set, but
my first attempt resulted in unloadable modules due to pc_debug being
need but not found by pcmcia_core.ko. I haven't yet had a chance to go
look at the code in depth to see exactly what's wrong there.

I'll try to get more info on this asap; in the meantime I do have
snapshots of dmesg and most of the interesting /proc files from both
2.4.20 (where the card works fine) and 2.6.0-test9. Also if someone has
a debugging kernel already compiled I'd be happy to download it and give
it a shot.
