The only problem I know of is that external level-triggered cards. I
think those only exist on old PCI cards. But, I am not a parport guru.

Perle looks like a good choice, because they provide Linux source code
for their multi-port serial card. If their parallel card needed
something to work in Linux, they probably would have provided source code.
