[Linux-parport] libieee1284 and reading data lines

It is been a while that I try to read the data lines, but I read only this 
value : 4.

I used the libieee1284, and followed this steps :

Settings

ieee1284_find_ports : OK
ieee1284_get_deviceid  : error E1284_NOTAVAIL
ieee1284_open (in EPP mode) : OK
ieee1284_claim : OK
ieee1284_get_irq_fd : OK
select : OK
----------------------------------------------------

then I generate a signal on ACK pin, and ths software return from select 
call and I call

ieee1284_read_control

and no matter what, I have only 4 as a value
(I change the pins value with a small generator).

Do you have any idea ?
