I debug further and noticed that pciehp_isr() _not_ getting triggered at all
(in spite of DPC link down/up activity).
Would that rule out that it has less to do with timing but the hotplug interrupt?
In my case, pciehp_isr() doesn't fire even though Downstream Switch port has
all required settings and condition met that ideally should fire Hot-plug
interrupt for PDC(and DLLSC) events!
e.g.
Before the test:
SltCap: AttnBtn- PwrCtrl- MRL- AttnInd- PwrInd- HotPlug+ Surprise+
Slot #272, PowerLimit 25.000W; Interlock- NoCompl-
SltCtl: Enable: AttnBtn- PwrFlt- MRL- PresDet+ CmdCplt- HPIrq+ LinkChg+
Control: AttnInd Unknown, PwrInd Unknown, Power- Interlock-
SltSta: Status: AttnBtn- PowerFlt- MRL- CmdCplt- PresDet+ Interlock-
Changed: MRL- PresDet- LinkState-
And after the MPS test with no engagement of pciehp :
(please note Changed: MRL- PresDet+ LinkState+ )
SltCap: AttnBtn- PwrCtrl- MRL- AttnInd- PwrInd- HotPlug+ Surprise+
Slot #272, PowerLimit 25.000W; Interlock- NoCompl-
SltCtl: Enable: AttnBtn- PwrFlt- MRL- PresDet+ CmdCplt- HPIrq+ LinkChg+
Control: AttnInd Unknown, PwrInd Unknown, Power- Interlock-
SltSta: Status: AttnBtn- PowerFlt- MRL- CmdCplt- PresDet+ Interlock-
Changed: MRL- PresDet+ LinkState+
