I'd rename the function into bcmnand_poll_status(), since you're not
necessarily polling for the R/B bit.

Where do you get this 200 msec value from. It's probably better if you
pass this timeout val through a parameter.

I still think this function should return 0 in case of success and
-ETIMEDOUT in case of error.

but there's already the same kind of warning in bcmnand_poll_status().
