Problems after 2nd bootup with NAND and ubifs/ubi

Hi mtd/ubifs friends,
First off, thanks for your work, especially providing the backport to
2.6.37. I found that to be very useful.
On my board, I'm able to flash ubifs to nand using u-boot, boot from
that ubifs on nand once and run happily during that time. But then if
I do a power cycle, I encounter a high chance of boot failure (90%).
I've tested that the behavior is consistent on 3 boards. I've attached
serial console logs to show what I observe.
I went through the FAQ, and the free space fixup issue looked close to
my symptoms so I set -F in mkfs.ubifs and pulled the ubifs backport. I
see "UBIFS: free space fixup complete" in the first boot so I think
this is working. I'm pretty sure I must be doing something wrong but
I'm having trouble figuring that out. I would appreciate any
advice/suggestions.
Example of errors (logs attached) are:
a) flash_then_failon2ndboot.log attached

0. Misc details
- I am using a TI DM3730 board very similar to beagleboard-XM. I'm
using Micron SLC 512MB NAND , part number MT29C4G48MAZAPAKQ-5
- I'm creating the ubifs image using:
$ ./mkfs.ubifs/mkfs.ubifs -V
mkfs.ubifs 1.5.0
$ ./ubi-utils/ubinize -V
ubinize 1.5.0
./mkfs.ubifs/mkfs.ubifs -F -r
~/nand_work/mtd-utils/wiser2_ics_rootfs_unpacked/ -m 2048 -e 126976 -c
3991 -o ubifs512MB.img
./ubi-utils/ubinize -o ubi512.img -O 2048 -m 2048 -p 128KiB -s 512 ubinize.cfg
$ cat ubinize.cfg
[ubifs]
mode=ubi
image=ubifs512MB.img
vol_id=0
vol_size=450MiB
vol_type=dynamic
vol_name=rootfs
vol_flags=autoresize
- I'm flashing the image on to NAND using u-boot. I'm fully erasing
NAND each time for this test.

1. Kernel version
I'm using the 2.6.37 kernel from TI's rowboat ICS tree. I have pulled
the 2.6.37 backport into it as per below.

UBIFS: remove invalid reference to list iterator variable
I've attached my .config.
2. There are some items in the FAQ that I have not yet done.
- run the MTD tests to validate your flash
- enable the UBIFS extra self checks and try to reproduce the problem
I'll work on doing those next.
Thanks,
jaya
