MTD oob modes!!!

Hi All, can any one please know me what the exact difference between
the following modes

1) MTD_OOB_AUTO
2) MTD_OOB_PLACE
3) MTD_OOB_RAW

I am very much confused with OOB_PLACE mode.Can any one please explain
me clearly.
