My bad. The message sat in my outbox and didn't get sent out until this morning
so I think messages got crossed.

Well, here's the process I used. Note the last checkout I did was in April and
back then things went fine;

    - I checked it out.
    - Looked for a CHANGES file where this sort of thing should be. None.
    - I looked at the README file. Nothing mentioned about 2.4 support going away.
    - I looked at the INSTALL file, still says:

        "The script works for kernels >= 2.4 and can be used to prepare
        pristine kernels and update your already mtd-patched kernel to the
        latest state of the art."

Which kinds-sorta implies things might still work under 2.4

When I hit the problem I began to *skim* the list. As of yesterday I saw nothing.
Perhaps I missed something, for which I apologize.

I probably am not unlike allot of people using this stuff; We've got a bunch of
stuff to get working besides mtd, so we are in a hurry. And after we look in
the first few logical places (CHANGES, README, INSTALL) then we give up.

Sorry to all.
