Tagging kernel data using MTE

Hi,

I am trying to tag kernel module data using MTE.  However, executing a
ldg instruction after a stg instruction always returns 0 in the color
bits.

I have made sure that the ID_AA64PFR1_EL1.MTE bits are set to 0b0010
and the CTLR_EL1.ATA bit is set to 1 when trying to color data.  Is
there something else I need to check and/or set?
