ok, what I tried:

1) copied dtbs from firmware github repo

2) copied kernel and kernel7 files

3) modified config.txt  to add

device_tree=bcm2710-rpi-3-b.dtb

4) boot successful

5) here is my dmesg https://pastebin.com/CK33EcgD
