2) seems the most flexible to me too, it would result in a lot of boilerplate
code in the bridge drivers, 90% of which work with the existing code. We could
consider converting the bridge drivers to explicitly call sink callbacks as a
long term task, though.
3) sounds like a nice idea to abstract away this issue, but would probably be
hard to get right so that it works across multiple DSI controllers.
