I can try to, but in the end it's up to the platform maintainer, which is
Kukjin.

There's still some benefit to having per-SoC defconfigs, since it's a better
starting point for someone looking to cut down a defconfig for use on their
product/single-platform kernel.

If anything, having slightly different defconfigs improves test coverage since
fewer assumptions about everybody using exactly the same configs will get
exposed.
