BTW, I think you can use the original function with something like this:
return !(pfn + (size >> PAGE_SHIFT) > (1 << (PHYS_MASK_SHIFT - PAGE_SHIFT)));
and define PHYS_MASK_SHIFT to 32 for classic MMU.
