Unless Peter releases before Monday, our 1.0.9 is going to be different 
from libusb's 1.0.9, therefore our release candidates will be. I am also 
hoping that we're not going to go through 3 RCs, but who knows.

Hence I don't think the tag serves much of a purpose, and worse, it may 
be confusing. The tag doesn't even seem to be visible in mainline (it's 
supposed to have occured 6 months ago, but at least SF's gitweb doesn't 
show it anywhere in mainline around that time - the last tag displayed 
for mainline is 1.0.8).

Thus, I really don't think we should keep orphaned tags...
