Since I am one of the admins of libusbx, of course I need to
take a side with libusbx, if not, I would say no to the invitation. :-)
On the other hand, Michael and other contributors do
not need to choose a side, at least for now. So does
all current the users of libusb-1.0, they can choose not to take side
any time soon -- let the market force decides which one will win
and then choose side when the winer is clear. Of course
I believe libusbx will be the winner. :-)
Linux distro will play a big part in this market force.
Hans' position as Fedora packagers will be a big plus
for libusbx here.
Windows binary will help libusbx but probably this
is not the deciding one. Mac OS X related projects
(Macports, Homebrew and fink) will also play a
part as well.
