I'm using both, since DLL interchangeability doesn't help with 
generating MSVC static libraries.

In -pbatard, I'm running 2 scripts sequentially: _bd.cmd [1] for MSVC 
and _bm.sh [2] for MinGW-w64 (multilib). I also have a _README.txt that 
gets copied over as README.txt [3] for inclusion in the binary snapshot.

If you guys are OK with it, and with a few modifications, I could pretty 
much copy all these files into mainline (maybe with more explicit names 
and in a "maintainer/" subdir or something) to start generating Windows 
binaries.
