[libical] Zimbra and libical

Hi,

I do realize that libical basically leaves the network and actual data fetching bits up to the implementer; however I'm hoping someone on the list has already done this and has some practical advice for me.  

I'm trying to get at my Zimbra server's CalDAV store and there seems to be very little documentation in the Zimbra project for how to do that.  It's an https connection so sniffing with wireshark for relevant information isn't an option.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  How do I go about getting the data off my server so I can parse it using libical, and then uploading the changes I make to it back to zimbra?
