Well, the 2.6.31 kernel is almost 4 years old already, so yeah, there
have been a lot of fixes to the driver since then. If you're at all
able to use a 3.x kernel, preferably 3.5 or 3.6, that would be great.
You could try backporting the driver from the latest kernels to 2.6.31.
