Really?  What's the driver called? (lsmod or modinfo it please).  If
anything, you're using the Marvell vendor driver for that card?

Yes.  From personal experience, I recommend something with the Atheros
chipsets (ath5k driver) or maybe Broadcom B43.  I've used both in AP
mode.  This list should help:
