Hi Holger:

I tried several other channels; no joy.  I did notice something:  My Bit 
Rate is always at 1Mb/s, eventhough my signal strength is good and S/N 
is high.  Other wireless units can connect at 11 Mb/s with no problem.

So it is possible that something is failing in the negotiation, or that 
the card won't switch to a different bitrate...

Should the card have a list of peers/APs?  iwlist returns no peers and 
no APs.
