Libertas SDIO issues

greetings all,

per a request of dcbw, i'm posting the current status of the sdio interface for the libertas
88w8385 chipset. i've been able to communicate with the card and do a basic register dump as well
as attempt to upload the helper firmware application, however thats where things run into trouble.

current issues:

1) according the "WLAN Subsystem" document posted by Ronak(from marvell), on page 17 section 2.2.1
is the firmware download instructions for the SDIO interface. the very first item states that the
"Scratch Pad Register for FN0 and FN1" should be checked. the problem is there appears to be no
scratch pad registers for the SDIO interface(or none that have been documented).

2) another issue is in item 3 of the instructions where the use of a 4-byte header is referenced.
there is no description of what the 4-byte header is or what it contains. i've looked around and
found that in the SDA's brief summary document for the bluetooth sdio interface there is a
description of a 4-byte header for usage when doing data transfers. i can only assume something
similiar exists for the wlan specification.

3) yet another is in item 4 where the instructions state "by writing into the I/O port Register".
as best as i can tell the "i/o port register" for the sdio interface is read-only from the host
side for the sdio interface. so this begs the question, what i/o port register are they refering
to?

thanks
Dave Anders aka prpplague
