Ahh, Marvell just allowed the Gumstix people to released the 5.0.16 
driver as GPL to the general community. The driver is at 
http://files.gumstix.com/cf8385-5.0.16.p0-26306.tbz

There, in wlan_tx.c is a function SendNullPacket(wlan_private *priv, u8 
pwr_mgmt) that I could use for this purpose.
