Hi,
it all started with a commit on 2011-05-02 titled:
RTC: Disable CONFIG_RTC_CLASS from being built as a module
Following, Openwrt disabled RTC core support for targets, which aren't
equipped with a RTC, to save space. Hope that helps to get you started.
