[LEDE-DEV] Netgear WGR614 v10

I tried to install
lede-brcm47xx-mips74k-netgear-wgr614-v10_north-america-squashfs.chk on a
router running the OEM firmware. This router was previously mentioned
here:
https://www.mail-archive.com/openwrt-devel%40lists.openwrt.org/msg27539.html.

I don't think it worked. I can ping 192.168.1.1, but cannot SSH.
Wireshark shows the router requesting vmlinuz with TFTP. (I changed
boot_wait to on) Can I use this to restore a firmware, or must I solder
a serial console and use CFE?
