I tried out a newer Snapshot (OpenWrt SNAPSHOT r6181-761d45e) to see if the problem was gone, but nope, it still persists. 
Although, my DIR-645 seems to do fine for about 3 days before it stops sending anything. The kernel log displays the "Dropping frame du to full tx queue" error once now instead of several times like people mentioned on the posts above. But I'm not sure if this is a good sign.
