I have very similar effects on brand-new image for the GLi-MT300N-V2.
As this one has a rather new SoC MT7628, I suspect a problem with the standard WiFi-driver, used in openwrt. DIR-300NRU6 stock  firmware: Does it use the openwrt driver (MT76) _or_ the closed driver from MTK ? (ifconfig shows device ra for MTKs own driver).
