gpsd is not part of the OpenWrt base system. It is maintained as part of the (external/additional) [[https://github.com/openwrt/packages/tree/master/utils/gpsd/|packages feed]] which has its own bugtracker.

A [[https://github.com/openwrt/packages/pull/5863|PR to update gpsd]] to 3.17 already exists.
