I can confirm that I'm having a similar issue. I've detailed it here: https://forum.lede-project.org/t/clients-in-same-wlan-cant-reach-each-other/2501/38

No matter what I do it seems impossible to enable hairpin mode on the bridge.

One thought: the original poster is also using the full hostapd to enable roaming. As am I. Could this be related to the issue?
