[FS#1099] pppoe fails to connect starting from trunk r5095

Details - Supply the following if possible:
 - Device problem occurs on: BT Home Hub 5
 - Software versions of LEDE release, packages, etc.: trunmk r5095 onwards 
 - Steps to reproduce

Up to firmware r5053 there was no problem connecting to Infostrada (Italy) ADSL service.
The next trunk I built was r5095. Since this version the router connets to ADSL (showtime), but pppoe-wan fails to come up, no IP address is acquired and thus no internet connection.

Downgrading to r5053 solves the problem.

I tested the newer firmware also in the UK where ADSL lines use pppoa and it works fine, so this look like a specific pppoe issue.
