[FS#1050] LuCI web interface does not notice when WAN is disconnected

Details - LEDE 17.01.3 running on Netgear WNR3500Lv1

-bring up the LuCI webadmin interface, Status->Overview
-unplug the cable from the WAN port of the router
-refresh the Status->Overview page: under Network, it still shows the WAN Status as connected, with IP address, DNS, etc... even an hour later.

Expected result: the page should show that the WAN is disconnected, otherwise it's not much use as a Status page.
