Well, according to the code the LAN/WAN MAC-Address can't be the same.

Assuming the WAN MAC-Address is 11:22:33:44:55:66, the LAN MAC-Address should be 13:22:33:44:55:66.

Nevertheless, if there are proper MAC-Address for LAN, WAN and WLAN they should be used. Would you please provide the output of:

  * 'ifconfig -a' from the original xiaomi mini firmware
  * 'dd if=/dev/mtd2 count=128 bs=2' from the xiaomi mini running LEDE

Are you able to build an image on your own, so that you can test a patch?
