Additional comments about closing: 464xlat is fixed both in master (https://github.com/openwrt-routing/packages/commit/754e6520611cc06c94d5c98ca241430a0f1334ab) and lede-17.01 branch (https://github.com/openwrt-routing/packages/commit/73c749d279a47b0d4c53e03b8d0fd4a6c773d634).
Therefore I will close this ticket; regarding the suggestions for improvements they need to be logged as an issue in https://github.com/openwrt-routing/packages as 464xlat belongs to the openwrt-routing github project
