It's not an ath10k issue. From the [[https://git.lede-project.org/8b4df1efd58c692168b8ea7e664bed4dc3fd600b|commit]] which added support for the R7500 

> 5 GHz wifi not working - there is no quantenna driver

To my knowledge the situation hasn't changed.

I would suggest to close this issue as "deferred" and reopen the issue as soon as an driver is available in linux-wireless.
