You are correct, I am testing with 

echo 0 > /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy1/ath9k/airtime_flags 

BT Home Hub 5 (this router has only one ath9k for 2.4G) and it stops the "rcu_sched self-detected stall on CPU" crash. 

However that disables ATF, it does not correct the code.

Once discovered that cause of the above is to be attributed to ATF, I thought the purpose was to address the root cause. You can open a separate specific bug, but I see more practical to re-assign this bug to the code maintainer (if necessary) so that we can keep this log, this feedback and test group.
