Seems to be a broader problem, I see this too on a Netgear WNDR4300v1. On some clients (that's the weird thing here) I consistently see connection 'stalls' while on others it is business as usual. The same laptop when booted with (up-to-date) Windows 10 doesn't  have a problem, while running Linux (kernel 4.8.3) it is unusably slow. Reverting said commit indeed seems to fix thinks.
