Details - I am installing shadowsocks-libev on Linksys EA8500-AH with the latest version of LEDE firmware from the repo:
 - https://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/targets/ipq806x/generic/
 - software built on 6 Oct
 - (1) flashed the lede-ipq806x-EA8500-squashfs-factory.bin file
 - (2) sysupgrade with lede-ipq806x-EA8500-squashfs-sysupgrade.tar package
 - (3) downloaded LEDE SDK from https://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/targets/ipq806x/generic/lede-sdk-ipq806x_gcc-5.4.0_musl-1.1.15_eabi.Linux-x86_64.tar.bz2
 - (4) opkg install iptables-mod-tproxy
[output]
    Package iptables-mod-tproxy (1.4.21-2) installed in root is up to date.                                  
    Configuring kmod-ipt-tproxy.                                                                             
    failed to find a module named nf_tproxy_core
