Details - As reported on Bugreport #297 and #182 LEDE does not build on recent stable version of openssl/libssl 1.1.0c. 
This version would get merged into more and more linux distributions because its the stable branch of openssl. 
LEDE should be able to build with this recent software version so that the people have not to extra install old/LTS linux OS to get able to build LEDE.
