"Let me start by saying that the problem has to indicate with the github’s commit that caused the abort SD card reader..."

Let me start by saying that LEDE has this awesome bugtracker and this is exactly what it's for. If you think you hit a bug, then please open a bug report >here< or
take it to the mailing-list. Otherwise it will get lost/ignored.

About the SD-Card reader: It sounds like you just used sysupgrade
and flashed a new kernel + rootfs successfully... But not the devicetree.
This is known and it's because the sysupgrade-tar method doesn't
include the device-tree file. Also, this is noted in the original
commit:

apm821xx: add support for the Netgear Centria N900 WNDR4700/WNDR4720

"b. sysupgrade.tar image for sysupgrade
...
Note: The devicetree flash area is NOT updated. Until the devicetree
definition is stable, this can lead to all sorts of hardware
detection problems! So make sure, if you experience issues: try
the fw_recovery. If you are unsure whenever this affects you:
test if you can reproduce your issue with the initramfs method.
As it will always have up-to-date device-tree definitions."

To enter: fw_recovery (which will overwrite the rootfs - so
make a backup) you have to keep pressing the reset button
during boot-up until the power/status LED flashes only green
(This takes 23-30 seconds). And then use tftp client to upload
the wndr4700-factory.bin image.
