Yes, the WNDR4700 (APM82181, which has a PowerPC 464FP CPU) has two ath9k pcie chips on the routers' PCB.

WLAN1: Atheros AR9380 5GHz 802.11an 3:3x3 (0x168c:0x0030)
WLAN2: Atheros AR9581 2.4GHz 802.11bgn 3:3x3 (0x168c:0x0033)

I think you have a different problem. But without any more information, it just sounds like you are simply hitting the regulatory limit for wlan0.
