just tested ont hw witi and it does exactly what it is told. the unit has 2 macs, one for lan and one for wan.

the kernel will load the first mac from the mtd using the devicetree hooks. from 0xe000. the board data seems to have not be populated by the vendor with a proper per wifi mac addr.

once the system boots, 02_networks will read said mac addr and add 1 to it and assign it to wan.

the default config will then be applied to the network devices and bridges as per uci config.

if you need more macs on your board than what is available you will have to manually set them in the uco config on a per interface basis. we cannot simply make them up by random.
