Details - The package kmod-ltq-atm-vr9 depends on the bridge daemon br2684ctl . As (all?) the lantiq devices have a DSL-Modem built in, this dependency shoudln't be necessary. I am running a setup without using an ATM bridge. I forced removal of the package br2684ctl and my setup is still working. Also I unloaded the kernel module 'br2684' and commented it in /etc/modules.d/30-atm . Still my ADSL connection is working fine even after reboot. So there is no necissity for this dependency, also the kernel module 'br2684' could be included in a separate package, currently it is included in 'kmod-atm' and automatically loaded.

I didn't check if this dependency exists for kmod-ltq-ptm-vr9 too and if it is necessary there. Due to the lack of an internet connection using PTM I can't confirm this.
